While restaurants are being able to welcome customers again, local businesses are still struggling to overcome the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak. As their supporting partner in this time of crisis, we want to keep going with our efforts to help them overcome this difficult situation.
Introduction of new "tipping" feature
We know that consumers across the country want to see their favourite local restaurant get back on its feet. As of today, you can now help a bit more by offering your financial support when you are at checkout. Two options are now available:
- Tipping: You can "round up" your bill, with the difference going entirely to the restaurant.
- Donation: You can make a donation to the restaurants by selecting an amount to add to your bill.
We are sincerely convinced that every little bit helps restaurants to keep going: together, we are able to make a difference in these times of crisis.
The latest measure of a large plan to support restaurants
This last announcement comes after a long effort to be a trusted partner for restaurants. With, amongst others, the launch of 'contactless deliveries', the expansion of the existing delivery regions to reach more customers, the lowering of our onboarding fees for new restaurants,the development of bespoke online marketing support for restaurants, faster payments of our partners.. We have made our best to support local restaurants wherever possible.
Our Deliveroo team is fully committed to help Belgian restaurants and will continue to seek new ways to support their growth.

Brussels, 8 June 2020[Date] - With restaurants being able to welcome customers again today, Deliveroo continues to support local businesses that are still struggling to overcome the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak. The delivery platform is announcing has today announced its latest measure: enabling customers to 'tip' or donate to a restaurant via the app or the website.
When customers are at checkout they The platform will give be given the option to the customer to either 'round-up' its their bill, with the difference going entirely to the restaurants, or to make a donation to the restaurant of a set amount. They will be given a choice of amounts they can add to their bill.
This comes after Deliveroo has continued to be a trusted partner for restaurants during these times of crisis.
